Interreg ENO Terremplo: Highlights from the 2nd Walloon Hub
On February 4, 2025, employment, training, and social inclusion stakeholders from the Huy-Waremme region gathered at the Centre IFAPME in Villers-le-Bouillet for the second Walloon Hub meeting of the Interreg ENO Terremplo project. The discussions focused on the interregional strategy currently being developed by the Terremplo consortium and the actions envisioned to improve the sustainable and non-precarious employability of NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training) youth in North-West Europe.
Key Discussion Points:
- Strengthening Inter-Agency Collaboration: Participants highlighted the need for better outreach, improved communication, and sustainable funding to support NEET youth. A proactive, community-based approach was emphasized.
- Enhancing Mentorship & Workplace Support: The group explored ways to ease the transition from training to employment, including post-training follow-ups, workplace mentorship, and youth-friendly work environments.
- Developing Soft Skills & Entrepreneurial Mindset: Hands-on learning, business immersion experiences, and gamification techniques were identified as key to fostering employability skills.
Conclusion and moving forward
The Walloon Hub highlights the need for a youth-centered approach to NEET integration by strengthening collaboration among employment, social inclusion and training stakeholders, developing mentorship solutions, and rethinking learning methods. Flexibility and adaptation to young people's realities are essential to fostering their professional and social inclusion.
